More More Kaitlin. And Books :)

Experimenting on the Brookside shoot.

More Kaitlin.

From the Brookside shoot. Working out some ideas. Potential ghost theme in some of these?

Binkles.

Kait is so pretty. I am so thankful that she offered to model for an assignment of mine. Hopefully they turn out!

Style. Or something.

I love these. I forget where I found em. But I did not take them.

Thankful.

I have been so fortunate the past few weeks to be getting such great support for my artwork from all of my friends and everyone, and I was also lucky enough to win a photography scholarship through school. I can only hope I can keep this roll going. I feel so much pressure now. But if anyone has a spare moment next week, they should for sure stop by the Fort Wayne Museum of Art and check out my photo along with great work from other Fort Wayne area students :)

I'll leave you with a photo of my family of beautiful cacti gifted to me by my dear friend Bryan Gibson.

Cigarettes.

I don't smoke. But, I do have cigarettes. Why? Just in case I feel like completely abandoning what I should be doing and need something to photograph.

Just For Fun.

I could probably post about 5 photos a day of stuff I'm fiddling with just for fun. Perhaps I will. I am in love with this little family of deer I picked up for a dollar at a local thrift store. This little lady is my favorite.

Libby

I come home from school early to find my dog lazily sprawled on the couch, and I must say I do not think the phrase "work like a dog" can be used in the same way anymore.

Self Portraiture

Had to do it for a class and got pretty into it. I love the results. Let me know your thoughts :)

Book Photos.

Pretty much the only two shots I actually like from my tableau assignment. Absolute disaster.. haha. If only I could formulate thoughts on a regular basis..

My relative theme was: that girl who "always has her nose in a book."

Wedding Photo.

Looks like Holga. Love it. Love the colors especially. Interesting idea.. that I may have to use...
(I'll get you the source I seemed to have misplaced the link.)

So EXCITED

I love this series I'm starting.

Elderly.

Everyone should take a look at this. I feel like my heart has been so deeply affected by just about everything for the past few months. Partially I think it's because I've really been thinking about the temporality of life. Nervous for my brother, sad for deaths of ones dear to my loved ones, curiosity about aging and when the right time to die is, and is there even a right time? Anyways, I think a lot of this is also from meeting the incredible Viola that I have had the pleasure to photograph. 88 and full of life. (Still in the editing process...)

Photo Adventures With Bryan.

He just recently bought a super nice Nikon and we went photo adventuring today. He's such a sweetheart he let me edit my own that he took of me, which he did a lovely job if I do say so myself.

Some Days I Wonder..

...if anyone even looks at my blog. If you do.. I love you. Photo from Brookside shoot.

I'll Always Love This.

This excerpt from Tanya Davis's poem How to Be Alone always gets me. She makes me feel so much better about being by myself. Click here to watch the film version of the whole thing.
If you have an art that needs a practice, stop neglecting it,
if your family doesn’t get you or a religious sect is not meant for you, don’t obsess about it.
You could be, in an instant, surrounded, if you need it.
If your heart is bleeding, make the best of it.
There is heat in freezing, be a testament.

I Cuss in This Post. Beware Sensitive Eyes.

Thank goodness for my sketchbook. If I couldn't get my feelings out I think I would explode.

Sturs

Maybe cool?

Cowchiz.

Brookside has so many great couches.. that no one ever gets to sit on.
